Why Humboldt Station

Local history.
Turned up loud.

Before Big Lake carried its current name, it was Humboldt—a lakeside settlement shaped by winter ice and the railroad that moved it.

Ice was cut from Big and Mitchell lakes, and the need to move it quickly brought a railway station in 1871. The name Humboldt Station tips its hat to those frozen-lake, iron-rail beginnings: local roots, rolling momentum, and another good stop ahead.

Years later, after his time as Big Lake’s mayor ended, Mike Wallen started a band—a new way to bring the community together.

Today, Humboldt Station is a seven-piece cover band bringing familiar rock and country favorites to park concerts, breweries, competitions, and community stages.
